Rajeswari from 'Diaper Mum' is having a milestones giveaway. She is celebrating her blog's 1st blogiversary. She's offering lots of great prizes and you don't want to miss out. Head on over and leave her a nice comment for your chance to win. :)
* these two - my gerbils Rocky and Mugsy. I tried to get a better picture, but they run around too fast. Unless they're sleeping - and then I can only get 1 in the picture because they sleep on top of each other.
* I ran into Target a few days ago to pick up some Maxwell House International Cafe for me and my Mom (it's the cheapest there) and I spotted this coffee mug. I couldn't resist buying it for 2 reasons: 1 - because it's so cute and 2 - because it looks a lot like my mustache. Ha-ha, just kidding - mine's not that dark. :)
Crocheted this little wiggles baby hat today while watching a JAG dvd. I've already started another one. :)

Finally finished a baby blankie - the last one I made was in October I believe. I started a few different blankies, but just couldn't get into it and ended up taking them apart.
This one is crocheted with assorted worsted weight acrylic - Red Heart, Vanna's, Bernat and Loops & Threads. I used a 'J' hook and it measures 31" square.
We got a little bit of snow last night. Darn. I'm going to be heading out today for a hair cut, and I really don't want to have to mess with all that. Oh well - such is life. Here's to hoping the hair-stylist doesn't scalp me like the last time. ;)
Good morning friends. As ya'll know, my sister Teri passed away last month of a heart attack. Well, last Saturday morning my sister Laura called to tell me that a life-long friend had passed away - also from a heart attack. His name was Andrew and he was only 47. It's been a sad week.
In loving memory of Andrew Whittlesey
Oct. 8, 1965 - Jan. 12, 2013
After what happened with Teri, I went to the doctor for a check up (I haven't been in ages) - they took an EKG of my heart and found that I have a slight irregularity. I have to go back and take a stress test in a couple of weeks. The dr. didn't seem too worried about it, so for now, I'm not going to be either.
I guess the reason I'm telling ya'll this is because I want everyone to take care of yourselves. Schedule that doctor appointment and get yourself checked out.
I saw a post on 'Teacup Lane' where she had crocheted a couple star dishcloths. I followed her link (thank you Sandy) to get the pattern and crocheted a couple of them for my sister Julie.
I also crocheted a few more baby hats. I made sure to make some for the boys this time.
Thanks for dropping by ladies - enjoy your day. :)
My friend from work gave this flower pot to me for my birthday a few years back. In it was a pretty plant that was potted in one of those plastic pots they usually come in.
Well anyway - I've been wanting to get myself one of those yarn bowls for the longest time, but I just couldn't justify the expense. And it's a good thing I didn't. This flower pot works perfectly as a yarn bowl.
The flower pot is 4 1/2" tall and the ball of yarn in it weighs 3 oz. :)
Two things that make me smile - the elderly/senior citizen edition:
* Vince and I were leaving Target and as we're walking through the parking lot to our car, I could hear 3 young men walking up behind us. One of the young men was rapping a song and as we know, most rap songs have cuss words in them. It didn't bother me - I've heard it all - but then one of the other young men says to his friend "Man - why you gotta be cursing? Don't you see that elderly lady in front of you?" (I'm laughing right now just typing this) What!? Elderly lady!? Oh my God. I turned around to see if he was actually referring to me, and yes, it's me - all three young men smiled at me. What could I do? I smiled back.
What I'd like to know is how that young man came to the conclusion that I was elderly. Vince told me it's because my hair has a lot of grey in it. What? No. My hair is blonde. I've really got to start hitting the 'Sun In' bottle a little bit more.
* Saturday night we were out again and decided to go to the 'Old Country Buffet' for dinner. Everything's fine - we pay for our dinner and choose a table. As we're sitting there, I looked at the receipt and on it is '2 sen din'. What the!? Again!? The young man at the counter charged us for '2 senior dinners'. Arghh! Good God Almighty! Oh well - at least we got a discount. :)
p.s. Vince is 52 and I am 51 - just when did this become elderly/senior citizen?
Crocheted some more little baby hats. I love making the little cupcake ones - they're so quick and easy. I should make more hats for the baby boys though - right now they're losing out.
Thanks for dropping by ladies - I hope ya'll have a good day. :)
